Diagnostic Assessment for Dyslexia
The process begins with a free initial phone consultation where we will discuss your concerns and advise whether a dyslexia assessment is appropriate. Using questionnaires, we will then collect background information about the child/young person’s development and education. The assessment explores a range of cognitive abilities and academic attainment. We will identify strengths and weaknesses and provide a range of recommendations to support the student effectively and guide them going forward. Reports can provide evidence for EHCP and DSA applications.

Report
A detailed report will usually be provided within 1-2 weeks of the assessment. The report will clearly state whether there is a diagnosis of dyslexia or not and will include a comprehensive profile of the student’s strengths and weaknesses. A wide range of recommendations for extra support and interventions will be provided as well as guidance for going forward. Reports are written according to the SpLD Assessment Standards Committee (SASC) guidelines. On occasion, where we see possible indicators of other neuro-diverse conditions, we will highlight this in the report and offer guidance for further investigation.
Feedback Meeting
We provide the option of a post-assessment feedback meeting to discuss the report and answer any questions you might have.
