Assessment for Exam Access Arrangements (GCSE and GCE)

Access arrangements are diverse arrangements that can be applied for and allow candidates with special educational needs to have reasonable adjustments in exams. These would typically include extra time, use of a laptop, scribe, prompter, reader or other accommodations. Schools or individuals can book assessments to provide evidence towards Exam Access Arrangements applications. This can be done from Year 9 and above. A Form 8 will be used in conjunction with the school or college. Joint Qualifications Council (JCQ) guidance will be followed when recommending arrangements. The student’s normal way of working will also be considered. Results from an assessment for Exam Access Arrangements can also be used as evidence when applying for Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) for university students.
